The Joint Preservation Institute sees patients from across the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay area, Oakland and San Jose to treat surgical and non-surgical orthopedic conditions of the shoulder, knee and hip injuries, using the latest technology, including regenerative medicine with biologics. Appointments

We know you have many choices when choosing an orthopedic and sports medicine clinic in Northern California. We have made requesting an appointment a simple process via our Web site. If, for any reason, you cannot keep a scheduled appointment or will be delayed, please call as soon as possible. Charges may be incurred for appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before scheduled appointment time.

Insurance

Our office accepts a variety of health plans. We are in network for most health plans.

Out of network

Being out of network indicates that we do not have a contract with a given insurance company. With out of network plans, patients pay at the time of service. We then provide patients with the necessary forms to obtain reimbursement from their insurance companies. In many cases, the out of pocket fees for patients are nearly the same for in network and out of network care. Our staff is very knowledgeable about this process and can help guide our patients through it.

The most efficient way to evaluate your case is to have you obtain your medical records and radiographic studies in CD format and mail them to our office with a short introduction letter. We will review them and contact you, usually within one week.
